Yagé, often called "The Grandmother", among many other names, is a perennial vine native to the lush Amazon rainforest, admired for its uniquely captivating, thick woody stems and twisting growth. Revered for centuries by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin, this remarkable vine holds a deep, spiritual significance within their traditions and practices.

Growing and nurturing your own Grandmother plant offers a beautiful opportunity to form a personal relationship with this legendary botanical. Simply tending to and caring for a plant can profoundly deepen one's connection to its essence and history. While mature vines are known for rapid growth—sometimes gaining up to a foot in height weekly under ideal conditions—most gardeners in the USA will find their climates not suitable for the vine to fully mature.

Typically hardy only in USDA Zones 10 to 12, Yagé can survive elsewhere as a potted specimen kept within a greenhouse or sunroom environment, maintaining temperatures consistently above 55°F. In colder regions, foliage will naturally die back during winter months, but roots will survive with proper care. Each spring, the resilient vine re-emerges anew, reflecting its powerful cycle of renewal and regeneration.

Important: These rooted cuttings are offered strictly for ornamental purposes to cultivate a relationship by caring for this living plant. It should not be consumed under any circumstances. It will not reach harvestable maturity in the majority of the USA.
